Strong M3.1 solar flare

An impressive looking solar flare peaking at M3.1 was detected around an active region just behind the east limb at 04:57 UTC (March 6). As mentioned in my previous update, we will begin to see the likely sunspot appear within the next 12 hours. Imagery courtesy of SDO.
