Let's go on a quick spin round the Workshop Bench and the Radio Shack. Click the images to see them up close.
Starting with the Workshop Bench...
National HRO
A real slice of history here.
YAESU FT-ONE
This beast has only recently been rescued from the attic. I haven't yet dared to switch it on, as I dread discovering what entropy has done to this sweet machine.
ICOM IC-R71E
Yep, you're seeing double.
And moving on to the Radio Shack...
YAESU FP-107E
The power house.
ICOM IC-R75
ICOM IC-R7000
ICOM IC-718
Tuned to the calling frequency and standing by...
The latest addition to the shack
ICOM IC-775DSP
My dream radio
For your Ic775DSP there is a modulation mod. Get a 2.8 KHz filter. See: http://www.remeeus.eu/index.php/ham-radio/transceivers/filtering-of-the-icom-ic-775dsp.html
ReplyDeleteGood luck
19WW409 Rob.
Ps I had it done in my 775DSP
Thanks for the information Rob, I have 2 additional filters in the radio. I must take a look to see which ones are fitted.I haven't taken the covers off yet, once I do I will post the findings, by the way I am very happy with the 775.
ReplyDeleteIts much better than any other radio I have owned.
All the best and thanks for visiting the site, I hope we can meet up on the band

2aa416 be careful about over load on front end . 775 use oin diodes which can be damaged. 73
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, I always worry about that. I would hate to damage my pride and joy.
DeleteI recently blew the small protection fuse bulb in series with the antenna on one of my venerable ICOM IC-R 71E's
One of my long wire antennas feeding the 71 is a bit too close to my Imax 2000 TX antenna, lesson learnt. I only connect when I use the 71 now instead of leaving it plugged in all the time.
I have a coaxial surge protector in the feed to the 775 in case of lightning but I don't suppose its any good when my mate Paddy, 26AT127 keys up using 150 watts on my driveway. :-) he is a very naughty boy!
