RetroCom viewer 'Thunder Chicken' of Arizona has sent in some interesting vintage photo's of his stacked Moonraker system from the 1960's.
Notice the vintage autos in one photo. A letter from Avanti (Makers of the Moonraker) is included that details the method for phasing the antennas.

Hello Dave, yes I think you are right.
ReplyDeleteThey were banned in the USA some time in the 80's because they were of metal construction and posed a risk.
The concern was that inexperienced people putting these up would make contact with power lines and die!
