Strong M6.16 solar flare from sunspot region 12222

M-class flares are what we call the medium large flares. Mostly they cause small radio-blackouts in the polar areas and the day lit side of the Earth. Small radiation storms could also happen. Only the largest M-class flares with a long duration and earth directed could cause auroral storming on the middle latitudes.
