X3.1 solar flare observed around region 2192

X3.1 solar flare observed around region 2192 at 21:40 UTC. Surprisingly, little to no CME appears to be associated.


At its peak, size of X3.1-flare ribbons (bright area) from solar region 2192 was nearly 1/4 the width of the Sun!
